Central Lake Maggiore and Borromeo Islands

You are here:

Stresa, Verbania, the Borromeo Islands and much more

Lago Maggiore opens up at its widest point towards the Borromeo Bay with the famous Borromeo Islands: Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori.
At the margin of the bay is situated the towns of Stresa, renowned as the “Pearl of Verbano”, Baveno, famous for pink granite, and also the Verbania districts of Suna and Pallanza, where you can visit Villa Taranto. Splendid hotels form a scenery that has caused tourism to thrive ever since the late nineteenth century. Today major events take place in these towns, to which many prominent people and VIPs are invited.
